The choice of projects and organisation for VSS and MTS will be specified by the concerned VSS/ MTS Co-ordinator.

The Village Study Segment andManagement Traineeship Segment will be evaluated. All these segments will be of 12 credits each. The grading system will be same as that used for the classroom segments

The components, on which students’performance in the Village Study Segment (VSS) will be evaluated, include:

· OP & Village Profile- 15%

· RAAC by Reporting officer & host Organization- 15%

· NSS- 5%

The MTS evaluation will be broadly centred on the following components:

IISWBM  conducts Master’s Degree programmes of Calcutta University in Business Administration in Day (full-time) and Evening sessions. The applicants for the admission to the MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION course shall be required to undergo UGC specified national entrance tests like CAT, MAT, XAT, JEMAT.

The counseling and eye test will be conducted in the month of July/August on the basis of the merit of the candidate in IIT-JEE Examination. The courses will commence. Candidates should be mentally & physically fit for sea life. Details of the medical standards specified are available in the information brochure. However, the candidates should note that, for joining T.S. Chanakya and Polyvalent B.Sc. (Maritime Sciences) normal vision of 6/6 is essential for each eye separately and those it wearing glasses will not be eligible for admission. Whereas in the case of MERI Kolkata, glasses will be allowed up to plus or S minus 2.5.Un-aided vision should be 6/12 in both eyes minimum or 6/9 in the good eye and 6/12 in the other eye at least. Defective colour vision is a disqualification for all the 3 courses.

There are total 10 seats available for direct admission of foreign nationals to these institutes. They need not appear for IIT-JEE Examination. The application form for direct admission of foreign nationals may be obtained from IIMS on payment of US$ 100 by bank draft drawn in favour of Indian Institute of Maritime Studies payable at Mumbai.
