Ch. Charan Singh University (formerly, Meerut University) was established in 1965 (U.P. Universities Act 1965), to cater to the needs of higher education in western Uttar Pradesh. The University celebrated its silver jubilee in 1991 and now it is one of the premier educational institutions of the country. It has a vast and beautiful campus in a pollution-free environment, which sprawls over 221 acres of land having vast playgrounds and experimental fields, botanical garden, rose garden with life-size statue of the late Prime Minister Ch. Charan Singh, gymnasium, indoor stadium, well equipped library, hostels for both girls and boys, administrative block, spacious auditorium, guest house, community center and medical centre. The teaching departments belonging to different faculties, are housed in spacious buildings and have well-equipped laboratories.

Admission Related Information
The admissions to M. Phil. and M. Ed. programmes of study shall be through Entrance Test conducted by the University. The medium of Entrance Test will be both in English and Hindi except in case of language courses. For rest of the courses including master, diploma and certificate courses, the admissions shall be on merit basis.

Entrance Test Fee
The fee for entrance test is included in the cost of Application Form, and no separate fee will be charged.

Submission of Application Form
(i) The application forms shall be filled-up online and the hard copy of the filled-up application form with self attested copies of all required certificates and mark sheets and the university copy of bank Challan is to be sent only by Registered/Speed post so as to reach the Dean Students’ Welfare, Ch. Charan Singh University, Meerut 250 004 (U.P.) latest by June 9, 2012.

Entrance Test
For admission to M. Phil. courses, the Entrance Test will be based on a written examination of a single question paper of 2 h duration containing 100 objective type questions, each with four multiple choice answers having only one correct answer. For each correct answer one mark will be awarded while for each wrong answer 1/4 mark will be deducted. The final total marks awarded will be calculated out of a maximum of 100 marks. The question paper will be based on the syllabus for M.A./M.Sc./M.Sc. (Ag.) degrees in the respective subjects of the university departments of the Ch.Charan Singh University, Meerut.

(ii) An application sent through courier service or submitted by hand shall not be accepted in any case.
(iii) Application Forms incomplete in any respect shall be rejected summarily and the applicant will not be allowed admission.
(iv) Application form is to be filled by the student carefully in his/her own handwriting.
(v) Except in case of admission to M.Ed., candidates having appeared/appearing for the qualifying examination may also apply for admission to a course. But their candidature willremain provisional and will be considered only if they satisfy minimum eligibility conditions at the time of admission.
(vi) A candidate having passed his/her qualifying examination as a private candidate shall furnish a certificate of good conduct from the Principal of the College or Gazetted Officer or an M.L.A./M.P. In case of candidates of the university departments of the Ch. Charan Singh University, the Admission Committee shall see that there is nothing against the candidate, which may debar him/her from seeking admission in the class he/she has been selected for admission.
(viii) The self attested copies of the certificates, mark-sheets and other documents enclosed along with the application form shall be verified from their original documents at the time of admission.
(ix) Attestation of photograph will be accepted only from the Principal of an Intermediate/Degree/Post-Graduate College/Head of the Department of University/Gazetted Officer.
