IIT Kharagpur M.Tech Admission Notification
M. Tech Programmes For Teachers of AICTErecognized Programmes of Degree-Level Engineering Institutions and Working Industry Professionals
The following three M. Tech programmes will be offered for the teachers of AICTE-recognized programmes of Engineering Colleges & working industry professionals:
1. M. Tech in Electrical Engineering
2. M. Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering
3. M. Tech. in Information and Communication Technology
The programmes will be offered from July, 2012.
Eligibility for Admission :
• Persons involved with teaching at AICTE-recognized degree of engineering colleges & Working Industry Professionals are eligible for admission into the programmes.
• An applicant must have passed in branch B. Tech/MCA specified as listed below, with a minimum of 60% marks in the final qualifying examinations (for SC/ST candidates it is 55%).
-- Electronics&Communication – BE / B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engg, Electrical & Electronics Engg or Electronics Instrumentation Engg.
- Electrical Engineering – BE/B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering.
-- Information & Communication Technology – BE/B.Tech in Computer Science & Engg. Information Technology or Master in Computer Application(MCA)
Application Fee
• The Application Fee is Rs. 3,000.00 for general category candidates and Rs. 1,500.00 for SC/ST candidates, payable by Demand Draft drawn in favour of ‘CEP-M.Tech’ on any nationalized bank payable at Kharagpur.
Selection of Candidates
The candidates will be asked to appear at a written test and an interview to be held at IIT, Kharagpur.

Intimation to the shortlisted candidates - 03rd July, 2012
Admission Test and Interviews (to be conducted - 14th July, 2012 at IIT Kharagpur
Intimation to the selected candidates - 19th July, 2012
Registration and fees payment - 28th July, 2012
Commencement of classess - 29 th July, 2012
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. Please ensure that you are submitting application form completely filled-in, enclosing therewith a Demand Draft for an amount of Rs.3,000/- to be drawn in favour of ‘CEP-M.TECH, payable at Kharagpur.(Rs.1,500/- for SC/ST/PD, copy of certificate in support of the SC/ST/PD claim to be enclosed).
2. Candidate should visit the website http://www.iitkgp.ac.in for the submission of on line application, updated information relating to receipt of completed application, candidates called for interview, selected list of candidates and all other information pertaining to the M.Tech Programme.
3. Candidate should read the Brochure thoroughly before (i) filing in the application and (ii) sending the final print-out of applications (duly forwarded by the Head of Institution).
5. The candidate and the Principal/Head of the Institution forwarding the application should ensure that the application is sent to the Dean of Continuing Education Centre, IIT Kharagpur, Kharagpur – 721302 so as to reach on or before 22 June., 2011 by Registered Post or Speed Post only. Applications received after this date will not be considered. On receipt of the applications, acknowledgement will be sent by email.
6. Information given by the candidate in all application print-outs should be same. In case of any difference observed in the data relating to experience, marks, designation, addresses, age etc., his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled at any stage even after selection/admission.
7. Conditional recommendation by the Principal/Head of the Institution will not be accepted. Applications submitted without signatures of the candidate and the appropriate authorities with seal, and/or without the required enclosures will automatically be rejected.
8. Interview schedule is final and cannot be altered/changed under any circumstances. Candidate has to appear for interview at the Institute(s) in person, where he/she would like to seek admission. Candidates may plan their travel accordingly.
9. Concessions, relaxation, and reservations for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Physically Disabled/Female candidates are as per rules.
