XLRI XAT 2013-2014 Entrance Exam 

For more than 60 years XLRI is conducting Admission Test on all India level to select the most appropriate students for management education. Our long experience and the expertise have helped us in extending this test to other Management Institutes. Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2012 will be conducted on 8th January 2012 by Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI), an association of likeminded institutes. There are 16 core member institutes and more than 85 associate institutes located in different parts of the country. The test would be co-ordinated by XLRI Jamshedpur.

XAT 2012 would be conducted across India in the following cities.
Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Berhampur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar,Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Goa, Gurgaon,Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mehboobnagar(A.P),Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Surat,Trivandrum, Vadodara, Varanasi, Vijaywada, Visakhapatnam.

XAT 2012 would also be conducted across the following four international cities.
Colombo, Dhaka, Dubai, Kathmandu.

Applicants should note that registration for XAT 2012 and appearing for XAT 2012 is the preliminary step towards applying to any of the associate institutes. Applicants to different institutes have to apply separately to each of the associate institutes of their choice.

Axis Bank has been appointed as the partner bank for the registration process. Applicants for XAT 2012 can use any of the 900 + branches of Axis Bank located all over the country to make payment for XAT 2012. Alternatively candidates can choose to pay online using credit card/ debit card/ online banking.

Procedure for XAT Registration for payment through Axis Bank branches A candidate has to first register for XAT at xatonline.net.in and then only he / she can make the payment at branches of Axis Bank.

1.XAT Registration: In order to register online for XAT, the candidate has to visit the website xatonline.net.in and click "XAT Registration". The XAT Registration page opens up wherein he/she has to fill-in the online XAT form. The information to be provided includes personal details and payment option details.

2.XAT ID and Password: After successful submission of the personal details , the candidate will immediately get his/her XAT ID and password (which is automatically generated by the system) by email. The candidate has to log in to his/her e-mail address provided for registration and validate the mail received by him/her from XAT by logging in again at xatonline.net.in

3.Complete Form: The candidate visits xatonline.net.in and clicks XAT Login and logs in using his/her XAT ID and password. The candidate will be prompted to change the password on first login only. The ID and this password needs to be retained by the candidate for future correspondence with XAT Office, downloading XAT Admit card and other transactions at xatonline.net.in The candidate continues and completes his / her education details.

TO UPLOAD PHOTOGRAPHS AND SIGNATURES
Please note that all applicants are required to upload their scanned(digital) photographs and signature and the file size of each of the Photograph and Signature should not be more than *50 KB per file. The online application system will not allow to upload files larger than 50 KB. All Candidates have to upload his / her Photograph and Signature only in "Jpeg" format and file name of Photograph and signature should preferably be photo.jpeg and sign.jpeg respectively.

For Uploading photograph
i) Take your recent colour passport size photograph in digital format. The picture should be taken against a light/white background. In case the face on the photograph is not clear , your application is liable to be rejected

ii) File size of each of the Photograph should not be more than 50 KB per file , otherwise it will not be allowed by the System to upload.

iii) To reduce the size, crop the image of the passport size photograph in MS Paint or any other Photo Editor. Please ensure that only the full face portion is cropped and not the entire photograph.

For Uploading signature
i) The candidate himself/herself should sign( no capital letters) on a white paper with a black ink pen.

ii) Scan the signature in 200 dpi( dots per inch) scanner resolution settings and the file size should be less than 50 kb in jpeg format.

iii) To reduce the size, crop the image of the signature in MS Paint or any other Photo Editor. Please ensure that only the signature portion is cropped and not the entire A4 paper on which you have signed.

iv) Once the photograph and signature files are uploaded by the candidate successfully, the system will show on the screen the Photograph and Signature that has been uploaded. If these have been correctly uploaded, you should now proceed further to opt for the payment mode through 'Axis Bank'.

How to ensure that the Photograph and Signature are within 50 KB per file.
i) Should you have a digital or scanned photograph and signature, please open the same in MS Paint by right clicking the photographs
ii) Press Ctrl + W ,a window will open which will have an option 'resize by %'. Here enter anything between 10 to 50% and save the file with an extension.jpeg.
iii) Check for the size of the file in 'properties'. If the file size is still higher than 50 KB, once again open in paint and resize it to bring it down to less than 50KB.
iv) Repeat this process till the file size is less than 50 KB.
v) Save this file with the file Name as mentioned above as photo.jpeg and sign.jpeg

4.Download XAT Pay-in-slip: Next, the candidate has to download and print the XAT pay-in-slip on an A4 size paper on a single page. Please adjust your printer settings suitably to take the print on an A4 size paper. The pay-in-slip will have the XAT ID, name of the candidate, address, phone number and date of registration, printed on it. The printed pay-in-slip is in three parts. You have to take all these three parts of the pay-in-slip to the Axis Bank branch.

5.Go to Axis Bank Branch: The candidate has to take this printed XAT Pay-in-slip to any of the Axis Bank branches to make the payment. On tendering Rs 900.00 (being XAT fees) along with the printed pay-in-slip, the bank will enter the date of payment, Bank Transaction ID, Branch Code and put a bank seal on each part of the pay-in-slip.

The bank will retain the Bank's copy of the pay-in-slip with them and return the rest of the pay-in-slip to the candidate.

6.Complete Form: The candidate visits xatonline.net.in and logs in XAT registration using his/her XAT ID and password and fills the Bank transaction ID No. and date of payment. After doing so, XAT Registration Confirmation Page - Cash Mode will open up. Please take a print out of the same .

7.Affix Pay-in-slip: The candidate has to then affix the XAT's copy of the pay-in-slip in the space provided on the lower half of the XAT Registration Confirmation Page - Cash Mode. The candidate's copy of the pay-in-slip is to be carefully retained by the candidate for future reference, if any.

8.Send to XAT Office: The candidate has to then send the XAT Registration Confirmation Page - Cash Mode to XAT Office, Jamshedpur through courier/ registered post/speed post in a suitable envelope. This should reach the XAT Office, XLRI, Circuit House Area (East), Jamshedpur-831001 within seven days from the date of payment.

9.Keeping a copy of XAT ID & Password: The candidate is advised to keep a copy of the bank Pay-in-Slip, XAT Registration Confirmation Page - Cash Mode printout and note the XAT ID and password for future correspondence with XAT Office.

10.Download Admit Card: For Admit Card, the candidate has to visit our website xatonline.net.in, any time between 15 December 2011 and 31 December 2011 and take a print out of the same where the address of the test centre will be mentioned.
